The best weightless program…EVER!! Period.

I have been on my weight loss journey for one year and six months now.i have learned a lot about myself, weightloss, and health along the way. The one thing I can say definatively is that I know the secret to losing weight and keeping it off. It’s not as complicated a process as you might think so get ready to take some notes:

1) Make a decision to change

 – For some this is your children, your spouse, yourself, your parents, or some other person. For others it is just being tired of nothing fitting, being out of shape, getting tired quickly, feeling bad, being sick. For me it was the realization that I could no longer keep my shirts tucked in, I know I am a simple man.

– the other part of this is to remember your “why”. Remember WHY you decided to change. Write it down somewhere along with the “picture” of what you want to be. In other words write down your goal. Without a goal to achieve you will never achieve it… Sounds simplistic, but it’s true. Your own determination and self motivation are your biggest success tools.

2) Develope your strategy

– This needs to be a simple plan of action that you can follow anywhere and in any situation. Not a bunch of rules, measurements, metrics, etc. just two or three simple philosophies.

– Mine were/are;

A) if God made it, man didn’t change it, I can eat it

B) drink as much water as you want

C) no sugar, period. And limit bread as much as possible

3) Exercise

– to be fair I did not add this to my first two philosphies until I met my Initial weightloss goal. However, it is invaluable to maintaining your weightloss and your general well being!

This is the BEST weightloss plan you will ever see. I know it works and there are thousands of not millions that will attest to the same. Bottom line: Don’t think you can magically lose weight and forever keep it off without changing your mindset, eating habits, exercise habits, etc. If you keep doing what you have been doing you will continue to recieve the same results.

Now, you say, don’t you use supplements? Yes! I do use high quality health supplements from It Works! to aid in maintaining good health and nutrition. I do not advocate the use of any supplement as your sole diet/lifestyle “change”. It is not sustainable and in my opinion and observation. If you have already made your decision to be healthy and change your life forever, by all means use the available high quality nutrition supplements to help in your journey! Just do not go down the road of the magic pill, magic diet plan, etc. as your only means of change.

The last advice I will leave you with is Dream Big and Dream Often! When you have a burning desire/dream in your heart nothing will keep you from achieving greatness!

For Now,

Steven

Three weeks- Three pounds

I started using IT Works! Thermofit about three weeks ago. I have lost one pound each week. I believe this is due to adding Thermofit to my normal routine of exercise and diet. Honestly I haven’t done myself any favors on the weekends giving to my favorite sweets and pizza at various times. Still, this has given me the edge to begin moving toward my goal which has been staying at arms reach for months! I am so thankful for this supplement/metabolism booster to help me reach my goal! Only four pounds to go! I will keep you posted on my progress!! Look out 210, you have a new resident!!!

For now,
Steven

UPDATE ALERT!!!! ok I have to share this!!! I know you just saw this post yesterday because I scheduled it to post when I wrote it on Monday. I like to verify my weigh in results over a couple days before I post. Wellllll today I weighed in at 212.5, for this keeping track that’s 4.5 lbs lost in less than 4 weeks!!! I can only imagine what another week or two on thermofit will yield!!! I’m amazed!!

Goal check in!

When I left you last I was just starting in IT WORKS! Thermofit. I have been taking this for two weeks now. The first week I was on it I was unable to work out and it was valentines! As much as I tried I couldn’t keep myself away from the sweets and heavy foods! However, I can report that I did not gain one single pound thanks to the Thermofit!

This past week I was able to work out. I had to ease into the workouts only being able to jog around 10 min each day instead of the 20 I was jogging before I got sick. I still dropped 2 lbs this week!!! That’s what I call progress!!! I can’t wait to see what happens when I am able to get in a full week of working out and actually stay away from sweets (my biggest weakness)!

On the fitness front:

– I have increased sit-ups to 50
– increased leg lifts to 40
– started back on push-ups doing 10
– modified push-ups doing 10
– started back on plank position lifts 15

Let’s do this!!! We CAN make our goals with hard work and determination.

For now,
Steven

Checking in on my check in!!! Ha!

Well a week back into my workout I am paying the price for being out and sick for a week and a half! I was barely able to run for ten minutes before I had to take a break then run another ten minutes. Prior to my break I was running 20 minutes straight with a short warm up and cool down walk before and after. Also, as my appetite returned so did a few pounds. I ended the week at 217, which I am not ashamed of, but it is a tad discouraging. I REALLY want to reach my goal since I am so close and then I want to just maintain.

To that end I am adding a supplement to my diet. I am not a fan of weight loss supplements, I have not used any weight loss supplements over the past year, but I found Ultimate Thermofit which is non GMO, organic, and all natural with no stimulants. I am hoping it will give me just a little boost to reach my goal so I can maintain from there. I started taking it yesterday after breakfast and after dinner. I will keep you all posted on my results throughout the week. This company also sells a product called NEW YOU that I am interested in looking at along with the dietary supplements I already take GREENS (love the Greens, we give our kids the Greens Chews). Wish me luck!!!

For now,
Steven

So close I can almost taste it…..a check in post!

I can’t believe how close I am to my goal weight of 210 lbs!!! I weighed in this morning at 214. Granted I have been sick with the flu for the past week and dropped four pounds during that time. However, I will take the progress, I DO NOT recommend the flu as a means to loose weight!!!

On other fronts my fitness goals have taken a backseat the last week as you can imagine. However, I am currently at the following levels:
– 40-50 crunches
– 30 leg lifts (straight leg laying on floor)
– 15 regular push-ups
– 10 modified push-ups
– 30 leg lifts (using equipment)
– 20 minutes jogging at 12 min mile
– 10 minute brisk walking pace
– 20 elbow stabilization lifts (about three times a week)

All in all I would say a big improvement from where u started approximately 4 months ago for fitness and over a year ago on weight loss. Thanks to everyone who has and does support me along this journey! I still have a 5k in my sites for later this year!!!

For now,
Steven

No Sin Goes Unpunished…..

Often not what we deserve….

Cookies, cake, pie, hash browns, green bean casserole, fried chicken, fried turkey, etc, etc….. They will catch up to you, even if eaten in moderation with little or no exercise to offset. I know, mine did.

My weigh-in prior to the Christmas was 220 lbs. and today was 224 lbs. I really am surprised that I didn’t weigh 230 lbs. with as many sweets as I ate over the last 10 days. I did do a lot of hunting and other work on my garage and that may have helped. However, I will take what I got and work doubly hard going into this next year! I have a goal and I KNOW I can get to 210!!!

Blessings for the new year, make it count!

Steven

9 things your husband is always thinking about.

December 16, 2014Leave a Comment
by: Dave Willis
One of the greatest challenges in marriage is navigating the differences between the typical male thought process and the typical female thought process. God (in His wisdom and His sense of humor) gave men and women very different perspectives. When these differences are understood, the husband and wife can harmonize with each other and see the world with more depth and perspective than either can could do alone.
To help you ladies understand the mind of your man, I’ve listed below the main things that seem to dominate our thoughts. I hope these insights spark some rich conversations in your marriage. Since I’m obviously not an expert on what women think, I’m going to try to talk my amazing wife, Ashley into share the secrets of a wife’s thoughts on her blog.
If your husband is like most guys, his thought are probably …

(In no particular order)
1. Concern for your happiness.
This one might surprise you, but most husbands can never be happier than they believe their wife is. Your happiness, contentment and joy is of the utmost importance. Sometimes our own selfishness and pride gets in the way, but your happiness is a consistent thought. When you are unhappy (or you seem unhappy), we’ll try to figure out how to make it right.

2. SEX.
This one probably isn’t a shocker, but we actually think about sex even more than you think we do. It dominates our thoughts. In fact, most of us wish we could dial down our mental sex drive. We’ll often gauge the health of our marriage based on the health of our sex life.
For tools to help you improve sexual intimacy within your marriage, check out our new video series, “Best Sex Life Now,” by clicking here.
3. How to achieve more.
Most guys are results-driven, and even if your husband has achieved “success” in life, chances are he still feels like he doesn’t measure up in certain areas. Men can be (to a fault) driven to achieve. Engage with your husband in conversation about his goals and dreams and remind him that healthy relationships, not trophies or money, are the ultimate measure of success. We guys need to be reminded of this often.
Please encourage your husband to read this post on “Trophy Wife: A message for husbands” by clicking here.
4. Searching for peace.
Men tend to crave silence and solitude in a way most women do not. Men tend to mentally recharge through silence and contemplation while women tend to recharge through conversation and engagement. Again, these are generalizations which don’t apply to every individual, but I’ve observed them to be true in a majority of couples.
5. Food.
This one might seem carnal and shallow, but we think about food all the time. If you took all the brain space we use up thinking about food and sex, most of us would have the mental capacity to memorize an encyclopedia! I’ve been thinking about my next meal the entire time I’ve been writing this article!
6. Money.
Most men are wired with a need to be a provider for their families. We’ll often think hard about ways to make ends meet and generate more income to provide. Sometimes this healthy need to provide can consume us and evolve into an unhealthy need to generate wealth motivated by selfish ambition more than family provision.
7. Sports (but not necessarily for the reasons you’re thinking).
We love seeing modern-day gladiators battle it out on the field and we even will sometimes live vicariously through them (since we all have an inner gladiator inside), but this isn’t the only reason we like sports. We also like sports because on that field or court, everything makes sense. The lines are clearly drawn, the rules are known by all and scoreboard is always in view. We wish all parts of life were this clear and measurable. We want “success” but don’t always know if we’re winning or not in most areas of life.
8. Pain from the past.
Just like the “instant replay” in sports, most of us have a few major life regrets or scars inflicted on us that we are tempted to keep replaying in our minds. They haunt us until (or unless) we learn to embrace the richness and depth of God’s grace. If a man won’t embrace grace, he’ll lock himself in a mental prison where he will punish himself (or punish those around him) for the wrongs he’s done or the wrongs that have been done to him.
9. Leaving a legacy.
Every man wants his life to count. He wants to be respected by his family and he wants to make a lasting contribution to the world that will endure beyond his own lifetime. Most men feel the constant pressure of wanting to leave a legacy, but not knowing where to start or how to do it. We often need to be reminded that being a faithful husband and dad is the best legacy of all (even if there’s never a marble statue carved in our honor).

Thanksgiving….the aftermath.

Let’s cut through the chit chat, the gauntlet of Thanksgiving meals, family, food, family, and eating is nothing short of frightening when you are trying to lose weight!!! (credit to Brett Hubbs and the turkey sandwich gauntlet aka “The Gauntlet)

I went in with the mindset of just trying to survive. The Monday after the scale does not lie. I stepped up with fear in my heart knowing and flashing back to each bite of cake, bread, casserole, etc. I immediately moved the scale across to 228 and to my surprise was too heavy and gently moved it back until it rested on 223! Very happy that I only had a 2lb weight gain, I weighed again today at 222 which confirms it wasn’t a “kind” scale.

I must say first I did not exercise over the holiday, except to chase our three y.o. Who had endless energy. I did limit my portions even when eating deserts, but I tried everything. I think most importantly I used IT WORKS fat fighters prior to all three of the thanksgiving meals I ate. I don’t usually do that, but it was an easy countermeasure to try and help maintain thru the holiday. I would highly recommend any IT Works products, but don’t think anything will replace exercise and diet.

So glad to be back on a routine, but I have my eye on Christmas coming up. Have a plan, know your limits, and don’t lose site of your goals. One little goal of mine is to jog a full 30min on the treadmill and break the 500 cal mark. Today I broke the 400 cal mark and went 20 consecutive min on the treadmill. Keep working, we will make our goals!! What are your goals, long and short term?

For Now,
Steven
